The Wallflowers’ platinum 1996 release, “Bringing Down the Horse,” had the hits “6th Avenue Heartache” and “One Headlight,” the latter of which brought the group two Grammy Awards—one for Best Rock performance by a Group and the other to its songwriter, Jakob Dylan, who leads the group. Westport Country Playhouse’s Family Festivities Series will present Queen Nur’s “Sweet Potato Pie and Such,” a tasty treat of stories, songs and dance celebrating African-American heritage accompanied by African percussion instruments, on Sunday, July 19, 1 and 4 p.m. Recommended for ages 3 and up, the show is produced by Theatrework USA. The pre-show activity, beginning one hour prior to each performance, at noon and 3 p.m., will offer an introduction to African dance. More

Vanilla Fudge's Let's Pray for Peace Tour making a stop at The Ridgefield Playhouse
Vanilla Fudge's hit "You Keep Me Hangin' On" came two years after the release of the band's self-titled, very successful first album.
