It Pops Up and Disappears
Pop into a special fall Pop Up show by the Westport Artists Collective on Wednesday, September 6 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m at the Westport Arts Center. The Pop Up is free and open to the public, and will be on view through Saturday, September 9. The Pop Up can also be previewed during the day on September 6.

Whole Foods Market Donates to Outreach Programs at The Ridgefield Playhouse
Whole Foods Markets partnered with The Ridgefield Playhouse in order to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and adults to attend live theatrical performances for free. Six Whole Foods Market locations in Southwestern Connecticut donated 5% of their net sales from June 20th—a combined total of $26,599.40—to outreach programs at The Ridgefield Playhouse. As part of Whole Foods Market’s mission to serve and support their local communities, stores located in Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, Milford, and Westport participated in this “5% Day” or community giving day.

Weston's Emmanuel Kicks Off Summer Concert Series June 28
Weston’s Emmanuel Church launches their popular Summer Concert Series with Celestial Jazz on a Summer Evening, featuring The Joe Utterback-Gary Mazzaroppi Duo on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 pm. The evening features a family-friendly, eclectic musical program with acclaimed area musicians Dr. Joe Utterback and Gary Mazzaroppi. The Utterback-Mazzaroppi duo will deliver an entertaining set, drawing from their CD, Shadows and Smiles, as well as select compositions from the Great American Songbook that will appeal to jazz enthusiasts and beyond. The concert will be followed by an ice cream social. Admission is free (though donations are welcomed) and the event is open to the public. Emmanuel Church is located at 285 Lyons Plain Road, Weston.

The Palace's Young Playwrights Festival Features Local High School Playwrights

On Monday, May 22, The Palace Theatre presented the 4th annual Young Playwrights Festival, "Script to Stage," the culmination of a seven-week arts education program for high school students in devised theatre, improvisation, acting and creative writing. Hempsted Houses Host Juneteenth Celebration

Join Connecticut Landmarks and the NAACP-New London Branch as we celebrate Juneteenth. We will highlight the African-American history of the Hempsted House and the surrounding neighborhood on Saturday, June 10th from noon to 4 pm. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States announced by Union soldiers in Galveston, Texas with news that the Civil War had ended and that the enslaved were now free.
