WCSU theatre arts department to stage ‘The Wild Party’

Based on Joseph Moncure March’s 1928 poem, the musical “The Wild Party” will come to the stage at Western Connecticut State University for the first two weekends of November. Presented by the WCSU Department of Theatre Arts, the first round of performances will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9; at 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11. The following weekend, performances will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16; at 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.

Community Events Surround Westport Country Playhouse’s World-Premiere Drama “Thousand Pines”

Westport Country Playhouse will present a series of special events, free-of-charge and open to the community, surrounding its world-premiere drama, “Thousand Pines,” playing October 30 through November 17. Written by Matthew Greene, and directed by Austin Pendleton, the production brings the national dialogue about gun violence to the Playhouse stage. Support for the community events is provided by a grant from CT Humanities.

Anton Chekhov’s classic 1898 play, “Uncle Vanya” will come to the stage at Western Connecticut State University this month.
