Chelsea Piers Connecticut director Mollie Marcoux named new director of athletics at Princeton University

Mollie Marcoux, Executive Director of Chelsea Piers Connecticut has been named the new Ford Family Director of Athletics for Princeton University. Marcoux was a legendary student-athlete at Princeton University in both ice hockey and soccer. Marcoux, currently the Executive Director of Chelsea Piers Connecticut, joined Chelsea Piers Management in 1995 and has played an integral role in the creation and management of both the New York and Connecticut sports complexes.

The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced a radio partnership to broadcast all home games for the 2014 season on AM 1490 WGCH and live webcast through wgch.com and bridgeportbluefish.com. This will be the second consecutive year Bluefish games will be broadcast on AM 1490 WGCH.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers lost to the Adirondack Phantoms Monday night, falling by a final score of 4-2. The Sound Tigers scored both of their goals in the second period, thanks to Alan Quine and Scooter Vaughan, both of whom notched their eighth goals of 2013-14. Philippe Trudeau got the start in net and stopped 26 shots for the Sound Tigers.

Falcons 2, Sound Tigers 1
The Bridgeport Sound Tigers lost to the Springfield Falcons Sunday evening, falling by a final score of 2-1. The game was tied for nearly the entire third period, but a Sean Collins goal with 5.4 seconds to play in regulation gave Springfield the victory. The lone Sound Tigers goal was scored by Justin Hickman in what was his first career professional goal. Kevin Poulin was a standout in goal for the Sound Tigers and made 37 saves, some of them dazzling stops.

Victory parade for UConn teams set for Sunday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Hartford Business Improvement District will host a victory parade and rally in Hartford on Sunday, April 13 to congratulate the UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams for winning their 2014 NCAA Basketball National Championships. The parade, which will begin and end at the State Capitol, starts at 4:00 p.m. and will be immediately followed by a victory rally on the north steps of the State Capitol building. Parade and rally organizers are relying on private donations to finance both events.
