The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) today announced free summer programs, open to the public, at Stratton Brook State Park, Simsbury.

Glorious Garden Extravaganza
June 25 at 10:30 a.m.
June 26 at 2:00 p.m.

Adults will learn about organic vegetable gardening while children will learn the basics of seed sprouting and composting. Register for this free program by calling (860) 651-1091 or stop by Stratton Brook Nature Center.

Daily Programs

Now through Labor Day weekend, free activities will be held every day at 11:00 a.m. and
2:00 p.m. at the nature center. Activities may include nature walks, scavenger hunts, stories, games and crafts.

Special weekend programs are planned on gardening, fishing, dinosaurs, reptiles and more on designated Saturdays throughout the summer.
