Award winners announced for Paint Rowayton Art Walk & Show

A few raindrops didn’t deter a steady stream of visitors from taking an early evening stroll along Rowayton Avenue to enjoy live music, refreshments and artwork during the first Paint Rowayton Art Walk & Show on Saturday, June 13. Participating venues were Brendan's 101, The Harbor Gallery, Green Moon, Rowayton Arts Center and Quester Gallery. The event was organized Laura Hines Bickmeyer of Rowayton, a board member of the Rowayton Arts Center.

Earlier in the day, amateur and professional artists entered a Plein Air Art competition featuring outdoor scenes painted by adults and children who captured their favorite parts of Rowayton. There were 49 entries and the winners received a total of $750.00 in prizes. By category, the winners were: oil/acrylic (adults) – 1st Britt Bair (Darien), 2nd Mary Finnegan (Rowayton), 3rd Judith Lambertson (Norwalk); watercolor/pastel/drawing (adults) – 1st Richard Koleszar (Redding), 2nd Barbara Seith (Norwalk), 3rd Marianne Rothballer (New Canaan); children (ages 8-15) – 1st Trevor McGee (Rowayton), 2nd Isabella Fortuna (Rowayton), 3rd Kiera Henry (Rowayton); and children (ages 4-7) – 1st Miranda Wilson (Rowayton), 2nd Gavin McGee (Rowayton), 3rd Natalia Fortuna (Rowayton).

In addition to the winners, artists who participated and their towns were Darien – Sally Bushing, Greg Henry, Linda Lyons, Madeleine Mueller, Chet Saur; Fairfield – Andrea Bachrach; Norwalk – Megan Bayona, Mark Curtain, Merion Frolich, Chris Hammel, Ruby Masters, Susan O’Neill, Phyllis Padro, Janet Ryder, Grace Virgilo; Riverside – Conrad Tatge; Rowayton – Beth Ekedahl, Jack Feinstein, Stuart Ferrell, Hanneke Goedkoop, Sophia Greco, Cate Harbert, Alex Letters, Andrea Letters, Callum Letters, Liz Machette, Deven Machette, Wyatt Machette, Liam McBride, Casey McCall, Delaney Nollman, Eunice Roy, Annalisa Schaefer, Philip Schaefer, Charles Wilkinson; Roxbury – Chuck Urban; Rye, NY – Pam Tucker; Stamford – Betty March; and Westport – Sharon Weiss.
