The recipients of the Fall 2011 Mayor's Neighborhood Arts & Heritage Grants will be honored by Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch on Thursday, November 10, 4:00pm, at an award ceremony at the Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council's Arcade gallery. All are invited to attend.

The grant program, funded by the City of Bridgeport Mayor's Office and administered by the Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council (BACC), "celebrates Bridgeport's dynamic artistic and cultural environment by supporting the creative pursuits of its artists and cultural institutions," shares Marianne Brunson Frisch, BACC Executive Director.

The Fall 2011 awardees represent a wide array of artistic and cultural endeavors. Mayor Finch will present awards to artists Andrea Asprelli, Maralyn Adlin-Donovan, Robert Foley, J. Eve Liptak, and Jodiann Strmiska and the organizations Bridge Academy, Bridgeport Theatre Company, Greater Bridgeport Area Prevention Program (GBAPP), Slant of Light Theatre and WPKN Radio.

The Program enriches the quality of life in the City by funding arts and heritage projects and programs and underserved individuals and organizations. Artists, artisans, craft makers and musicians who reside or create works within the City of Bridgeport and Bridgeport organizations with an evidenced visual and/or performing arts or heritage mission and non-profit educational, faith-based or social service organizations offering arts and/or heritage programming are eligible.

The Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council is At the Arcade, 1001-12 Main Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Welcome Center is open Tuesday - Thursday, 11am - 3pm. For further information, visit the website, www.bridgeportarts.org, or call 203-522-4154
