Stamford poet Bob Lupinacci plans to introduce a new art form termed Poetography in the Mayor’s Gallery on the 10th floor of the Government Center on September 16th. Lupinacci explains Poetography as provocative poetry written to compliment photographs to magnify the meaning and intensify the emotional experience and impact of the photographs.
He is both the photographer and poet that created the collection The Magnificence in the Mundane – an Intriguing Perspective on the Nooks and Crannies of Stamford slated for the Mayor’s Gallery. A portion of the proceeds raised through this exhibit will be donated to The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis
Counseling and Education. This exhibit will also be converted into a book that Mayor Michael A. Pavia will issue as a gift to dignitaries and guests of the City.
“Poetography portrays what the right brain feels through what the left brain articulates. This art form amplifies the artistic experience by intensifying the photograph with poignant commentary in poetic form,” Lupinacci explains. There is so much more artistic, emotional and intellectual impact achieved
by combining the photograph and the poem.” Lupinacci developed the Poetography art form as a Graduate student at Fairfield University. He used the Poetography format as the signature page of HairColor & Design magazine, a trade magazine he founded and edited for 10 years. Lupinacci was recently awarded a U.S. Trade Mark for “Poetography” and the website domain name www.poetography.com, which will launch in September.
Lupinacci produces Poetography as commissioned exhibits and book content for corporate image and brand building campaigns and corporate philanthropy. Non-profit organizations employ Lupinacci’s Poetography as a core aspect of capital campaigns and general fundraising. Private sector clients commission his work to pay homage to loved ones, commemorate special events such as weddings and anniversaries or simply enrich their treasured photos. Another collection of Lupinacci’s Poetography will be presented in an exhibit at the ERNDEN Fine Arts Gallery in Provincetown, Mass. in September featuring his three-theme collection: The Dunes; Reflections of Commercial Street; and Moments on the Beach.
“These three themes capture the intrigue of the natural beauty of the Provincetown sea shore, the soul and spirit of its people and the rich legacy of its artistic and fishing heritage,” Lupinacci says. His Poetography will also be featured in hs magazine, a new magazine Lupinacci is developing to distribute to high school students in Fairfield County. The public is invited to attend a kickoff reception for The Magnificence in the Mundane – an Intriguing Perspective on the Nooks and Crannies of Stamford on September 16th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Mayor’s Gallery on the 10th floor of the Government Center at 888 Washington Blvd. in Stamford, Conn. This exhibits runs from September 16th - October 29th. For more information, contact Lori Bailey at 203.536.0801.
