The Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) has selected RoseAnn Deleon of Stamford and Pilar Garra of New Canaan, as paid interns. These part-time gallery assistants are supervised by Deb Randall, RAC’s gallery director, who says, “We provide an opportunity for the interns to become involved in all facets of running the Arts Center -- gallery management, administration, exhibitions, membership, facility management, educational programs and special events. Pilar and RoseAnn are a wonderful addition to RAC and I’m looking forward to working with both of them.”
Deleon is majoring in Graphic Design at Norwalk Community College. She says, “Interning at RAC is a terrific opportunity for me. I’m excited about learning how a gallery/exhibition works, so one day I will be able to install my own shows of my artwork and photography.“
Garra is a recent graduate from Ringling College of Art and Design. She says, “I've been interested in art all my life and love to be surrounded by it. When I first visited the RAC Gallery, I was impressed by the atmosphere and the art community. So when I discovered they were looking for an intern, I jumped at the chance and am really glad to be a part of the team.”
For more than 50 years the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) has been a community cultural hub that provides a welcoming environment for regional artists to exhibit and sell their work, exchange arts-related ideas, exhibit and participate in classes and workshops for creative people of all ages and at all levels. The Gallery and RAC Art School are at 145 Rowayton Avenue. The RAC Gallery is open from 12:00 noon-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday and admission is free.
