Stamford Downtown will be holding an auction on September 15, 2010 for the city’s summer-long public art project, It’s Reigning Cats & Dogs. Stamford Downtown’s It’s Reigning Cats & Dogs features forty originally designed fiberglass cat and dog sculptures, painted and embellished by local artists.
The pets, decorated by 34 accomplished artists from the region, include “Corn Dog,” a dog painted by Eddie Nino with corn kernels and husk; “Everyone’s Best Friend,” a dog by Suzan Waldinger decorated with customized handprints; and the lovable “In the Dog House,” by Pamela Riley-Abear featuring its very own dog house, will be available for bidding at an auction on September 15 at 5:30pm at Seven Landmark Square in Stamford by auctioneers Bobby Valentine and Laurie Guzda McEvoy. The party is open to the public for a $40 fee. Please RSVP by September 1, 2010.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Felines, OPIN and the Stamford Dog Park.
