Wilton, CT – Whether a child of the ’60s, the ’90s or any decade, everyone can join the fun at Wilton Library’s fund-raiser when The “Cast” of Beatlemania performs at the Clune Center at Wilton High School on Saturday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. It has been forty years since the last live performance of the Beatles on the rooftop of their Saville Row Apple building and with a little Help! from the library, people will be able to enjoy the “live” sounds of one of the most prolific bands in rock ‘n’ roll history.

Beatlemania was a Broadway hit show back in the 1970’s that featured outstanding Beatle impersonators in a multi-media tribute to the most celebrated musical group of all time. After a successful run on Broadway, the show opened to packed houses in L.A. and London. The “Cast” of Beatlemania features four very talented musicians and actors, who have devoted their musical careers to recapturing the sound and spirit of John, Paul, George and Ringo and who brought The Beatles magic to audiences around the world. Tracing the group’s short but profound career from its arrival in America through its psychedelic “Sergeant Pepper” era, the show features a solid dose of Beatles’ classics from 1963 to 1969. The four musicians performing are Carlo Cantamessa (Rhythm guitar –John Lennon), Lenie Colacino (Bass guitar – Paul McCartney), Jim Filgate (Lead guitar – George Harrison) and John Delgado (Drums –Ringo Starr) with orchestrations and keyboards by Mark Templeton.

According to Sue Sullivan, development chair for the library’s Board of trustees, “The library needs ‘a little help from “my” friends’ as the song goes. We think it’s a great way to bring everyone together -- couples, families, friends -- to benefit a wonderful resource that is at the heart of this community. It’s a fun night out for parents, their children and the young at heart.”

Anne Rowlands, development director for the library noted, “The concert is made possible by two very generous anonymous donors. Their magnanimous giving provides an opportunity for the community to ‘Come Together’ to celebrate the library in a positive, upbeat way that spans generations.”

Tickets for this high-energy show are $30 for general admission, $60 for the preferred section and $100 for the premium section. The $100 tickets include a pre-performance reception with the band at the library starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wiltonlibrary.org or by calling (203) 762-3950, ext. 216. Tickets also will be available at the circulation desk of Wilton Library. All proceeds benefit the library. Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in Wilton Center. The Clune Center is at 395 Danbury Road in Wilton.
