NORWALK, CT – Hotel Zero Degrees Norwalk, the 96-room boutique hotel currently being developed by RMS Companies on Main Avenue in Norwalk, CT has selected Ramze Zakka, Owner and Operator of Mediterraneo and Terra Restaurants of Greenwich, Sole of New Canaan, Aqua of Westport and Aurora of Rye, New York to open his newest restaurant in the hotel. Hotel Zero Degrees Norwalk follows the successful launch of Hotel Zero Degrees Stamford in 2010, a 97-room hotel located in the center of Stamford’s downtown, which has achieved wide acclaim and has consistently ranked as the #1 hotel in the area on Trip Advisor as well as other hotel rating websites.
“We spent a great deal of time searching the region for the ideal restaurateur who shares our same vision and focus. We are so excited about this new collaboration,” commented Randy Salvatore, Founder and Owner of RMS Companies, the Stamford based development firm. “Ramze’s five existing restaurants have become the social and entertainment centers in each of their respective communities and it is our expectation that this newest offering will bring the same vitality to our Norwalk hotel,” says Salvatore.
The new restaurant will be called Mediterraneo at Hotel Zero Degrees and will feature 110 seats, an open kitchen and two bars; all of which overlook a picturesque waterfall at the rear of the property. The restaurant will be the exclusive food and beverage provider for all hotel banquet facilities which include three meetings spaces, a ballroom and a rooftop lounge. Mediterraneo is renowned for its coastal Mediterranean cuisine including fresh seasonal seafoods and flavors that touch all shores of the Mediterranean.
“Unique event spaces are in demand in the Norwalk area and we are excited about our new metropolitan offering which will include highly styled meeting rooms with large windows, a ballroom that accommodates over 100 as well as a fully furnished rooftop lounge,” says Salvatore.
Ramze Zakka, the visionary behind Mediterraneo has been a celebrated Fairfield County restaurateur for over twenty years. His restaurants continuously and consistently receive rave reviews from famed food critics throughout New York and Connecticut. Mediterraneo’s Executive Chef, Albert DeAngelis, who has been with Zakka from the start, has been the creative vision and guiding force behind all five acclaimed restaurants and will be involved in the newest restaurant. “Hotel Zero Degrees is known for its ambient style and high-level of service so we are very much looking forward to joining forces with their hospitality team. We are also very excited about bringing our restaurant and product to the northern Norwalk area where in addition to Norwalk residents, people from the Route 7 area: Ridgefield, Wilton, Weston and Easton can readily get to us since we are located right off the Merritt Parkway,” Says Zakka.

Hotel Zero Degrees Norwalk and Mediterraneo at Hotel Zero Degrees are slated to open early Spring 2013.
