New Canaan, CT - DEANE Inc.’s Stamford Showroom has a newly renovated Culinary Center that is state of the art, stylish and encompasses the latest in kitchen design trends. “Our design team has created a new Culinary Center atmosphere that will inspire our clients and allied professionals to create designs throughout their homes,” says owner, Peter Deane.

Oiled walnut sap wood and bleached rift cut oak set against black, stainless steel and bronze metal tones give off a transitional yet slightly industrial feel. Opaque porcelain tile in a large format on the floor is appropriate for everyday use.

The extra thick walnut island countertop is a utilitarian cutting surface that is safe for food preparation and allows you to work directly on the surface. The custom designed open shelving to the left of the hood features walnut slats on a metal frame, giving a feeling of an old-fashioned bakers rack with modern sensibility and allowing for dishes to be displayed and easily accessible.

Taj Mahal quartzite used on the countertops and range backsplash is elegant yet durable. Behind the book matched sliding slabs above the range are two hidden niches: bleached oak shelves for cooking spices on the left and a completely integrated television and sound system on the right.

The Moroccan inspired ceramic tile backsplash above the sink adds design, color and movement to the area. Warm tones of paint color and wood are used throughout to soften the industrial feel and make it appropriate for today’s kitchen. Dimmable LED lights flood the cooking space, creating a calm and peaceful feeling that invites you in and makes you want to stay.

Besides serving as a showroom for DEANE Inc.’s work, the Culinary Center regularly hosts events and cooking lessons by Culinary Works.
