Ring's End Lumber has opened its ninth retail store at 149 Westport Avenue, (Route 1, across from Stew Leonard’s) in Norwalk, CT. The 10,000 square-foot store and showrooms provide a bright and spacious destination, convenient to customers in the Norwalk-Westport area, where customers can see and touch a wide variety of quality building materials and get expert professional help in selecting the products that will work for their unique project.

The Norwalk store, which launches a new Paint & Design Center concept for Ring’s End, stocks the most popular high quality products homeowners and contractors need to rejuvenate or remodel their living space with the exception of bulk lumber (which can be ordered for on-site delivery).

"The Norwalk Paint & Design Center, an express version of our full-service stores, features everything our customers need to refresh or renew their living space,” said Elliot Greenberg, Vice President for Sales and Operations. “The centerpiece is a Benjamin Moore Signature Store, with a spacious seating area where customers can explore colors and finishes. Architectural hardware, mouldings and millwork, deck and fence options are all available, along with the everyday convenience hardware and tools that builders and do-it-yourself customers need to complete their projects. Customers can also order from our complete line of lumber and building materials for convenient on-site delivery," he remarked.

"Customers know they can rely on the in-depth expertise of Ring’s End personnel, and we have intentionally selected people who are especially good at helping homeowners to staff this new store,” Mr. Greenberg added.

A grand opening celebration is planned for April, he said.

The Benjamin Moore Signature Store offers comfortable seating where customers can pour over thousands of color samples and select trial sizes to try at home. Customers will also find faux finishing products, stains, brushes plus all the tools they need for a project. The knowledgeable Paint Center staff collectively draw on a century of coatings experience. Independent color consultants will also offer complimentary color consultations and seminars in the space.

The architectural hardware showroom features locksets, door knobs, handles and hinges by high-end companies such as Baldwin, Omnia, Nobilus, Emtek, Von Morris and Ashley Norton. Door knockers from Michael Healey in shapes such as a pinecone or green frog, glass bin pulls and knobs from Lewis Dolan, and inlaid mother-of-pearl knobs and pulls from Schaub offer a wide variety of design alternatives.

The millwork display invites customers to compare window and door products from premier suppliers such as Marvin and Andersen. One vignette demonstrates how the traditional double-hung window found in older construction can be updated with an easy-to-clean, energy efficient model, without remodeling the existing frame.

The mouldings area showcases crowns, chair rails and other popular profiles that can instantly rejuvenate and update a room. The idea-sparking displays also include a room featuring bathroom vanities and mirrors, a decking and fence showroom, Easy Track closet systems, and a drapery hardware nook.

Norwalk General Manager Tim Plunkett joined Ring’s End Lumber in 2003 as an Outside Sales Associate. He was the former owner of The Tool Store in Norwalk and currently serves as Chairman of the Third Taxing District Commission in East Norwalk.

"My goal is to create happy customers by providing better service than people have ever experienced before walking into our store," Mr. Plunkett said. “Each customer brings us a unique project or problem; our staff is eager to help them find the solution that will delight them,” he added.

Norwalk Paint Center Manager Sal Migliorelli joined Ring’s End as the Paint Center Manager in Darien in 2005. He holds certifications in architectural coatings, commercial coatings and wall coverings from the Painting and Decorating Contractors Association (PDCA).

Joining Mr. Migliorelli in the Paint Center are custom color mixer Angelo Melisi, Joel Krisak and Caesar Zepeda. The four Paint Center staff have a combined 100 years of experience in the paint and coatings industry.

Other key personnel in the new Ring’s End Paint & Design Center in Norwalk are architectural hardware specialist Alvaro (“Al”) Radesca and sales associates/ millwork specialists Dave Morris and Linda Ryan.

Ring's End provides a one-stop source for lumber, millwork and building materials, kitchen and bath cabinetry, paint and painting supplies, architectural hardware, tools, and hardware for area contractors, decorators and homeowners. Known for the quality and depth of its inventory and the expertise of its staff for more than 100 years, Ring's End has full-service stores in Darien, Bethel, Branford, Niantic, New Milford, Wilton, CT, and Lewisboro, NY, a stand-alone Paint Center in New London, CT, a Paint & Design Center in Norwalk, CT, a custom moulding and millwork manufacturing facility in Milford, CT, and a central distribution and education center in Stratford, CT.

A privately-held company, Ring's End, Inc. has relied historically on the excellent relationships it has forged with suppliers, as well as on its success in finding and retaining good people. In recent years, Ring's End has become a significant force in the industry, one of the largest independent lumber and building materials dealers on the East coast, and the largest Benjamin Moore dealer in Connecticut.
