Stamford J.N. Ruddy Building & Restoration wins prestigious HOBI award

The winner of the Home Building Association of Connecticut, Inc. 2009 Best Old / New Remodeled Home, is J.N. Ruddy Building & Restoration for the restoration of the Hotel Chesterfield (1404 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT.). J.N. Ruddy Building & Restoration is headed by John N. Ruddy.

J.N. Ruddy transformed the circa 1862 Shippan Point property from a dilapidated rooming house into a stunning luxury boutique hotel. J.N. Ruddy thoughtfully restored this absolutely exquisite Stamford landmark capitalizing on Green Building principles while insuring that the important architectural details of the building were restored to there original grandeur.

The Home Building Association of Connecticut, Inc. HOBI Awards are the most esteemed awards presented in Connecticut for excellence in design and construction. The HOBI Award is conferred by the Homebuilders Association of Connecticut, Inc., an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders, and recognizes superior home construction quality, detailing and execution. Recipients of the prestigious HOBI Award are selected by a jury of peers who select the best in class in the State of Connecticut.

Mr. Ruddy, 35, is a life long Stamford resident and lives in the Shippan Point section of the city with his wife, daughter and niece.
