Cotton candy, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate in your hair, on your face, covering your fingers and toes. Sundae Spa makes it a simply delicious interactive experience and adventure without the calories for girls and boys.

The brainchild of Kimberly Swan, a former science teacher and more importantly mother of seven daughters ranging in age from 11 to 23, Sundae Spa is about to open its doors on its first location on September 4th with a celebrity grand opening scheduled for October 2nd. It is located at 2457 East Main Street in Waterbury and promises to be the hot spot for birthday parties and special fun days for families. It is designed as a place where children come to make sweet treats like sugar scrubs, lip balms and lotions; getting manicures, pedicures, haircuts and facials, while learning, looking good and having fun.

If it sounds like Sundae Spa is strictly for the girls in your life with candy facials, dessert manicures and pedicures, sundae haircuts and wraps, think again. It’s for the entire family. Offering boy friendly activities like Escentool Discoveries was essential to complete the offerings of Sundae Spa. Escentool Discoveries is a fun creative way to dig into educational fun while digging for dinosaurs, mining for gemstones, uncovering the earth, searching for creatures and finding lost treasures.
Why Sundae Spa? The inspiration for Sundae Spa came from a Swan family vacation. For something different, they booked a spa experience for their seven daughters that promised fun and sweet treats for your hands and feet. On the three -hour drive to the spa, they imagined all kinds of wonderful things they would do together at the spa. Sadly the experience was less than yummy but it did leave them with a taste to use their own creative ideas and start Sundae Spa.

After extensive research creating the products and spa offerings, Sundae Spa launched its website about a year ago while searching for a location and developing a business plan. The website, www.sundaespa.com offers a wide range of lotions and potions including soaps shaped like ice cream pops, a cupcake bouquet of bath cakes that fizz, specialty dessert soaps that look like fudge, pies and candy and even chocolate covered strawberries. All Sundae Spa products are handmade in the United States. Select products are vegan certified, organic certified and paraben-free with skin-safe colorants and fragrances.

The next step in this business adventure was to create and open the doors the deliciously educational spa experience and that’s exactly what Ms. Swan has done with the help of her entire family.
