NORWALK, CT - For the fifth year in a row, Teddy’s Transportation System, Inc., a global ground transportation company based in Norwalk, CT, has been named to the Inc. magazine list of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the country. According to Inc. magazine, the list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy.

“We were very excited to make the inaugural Inc. 5000 list in 2007 and honored to repeat our success in every succeeding year,” noted Charles Wisniewski, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The more times we win this award, the more I feel I have to remind people who don’t know us that what we concentrate on is delivering impeccably polished service to each passenger every day. Nearly all of our growth is organic. It’s not something we aspire to; we only aspire to showcase pride in every ride, and the growth takes care of itself,” he said.

Teddy’s revenue grew 25% between 2007 and 2010, ranking the company #4239 on the just-released 5000 list and 103 in the Logistics and Transportation category; Teddy’s is the only company ranked in its industry group in Connecticut. Teddy’s 2011 Inc. 5000 ranking, a 400-place jump from its 2010 rank, comes on the heels of Teddy’s being named one of the top three chauffeured ground transportation companies of its size in the nation in the prestigious LCT Magazine Operator of the Year competition.

“With business travel picking up steadily in the areas we serve, I’m delighted to report that we have continued to turn in a solid performance to date in 2011. As well, our global component sales grew impressively in 2010 and 2011,” Mr. Wisniewski observed.

“A rare few business travel purchasing agents still view ground transportation as a commodity, thus choosing the low cost provider. But the traveling executive demands prompt, courteous service, and will penalize any company that does not deliver that. Road warriors know there is often a vast difference in service levels across livery providers,” noted Mr. Wisniewski, a past president of the National Limousine Association. “At Teddy’s, we also connect people through dynamic new avenues of communication, including online booking, as well as telephone reservations, technology that pinpoints a traveler’s whereabouts in real time and innovative solutions that help corporate purchasers manage a worldwide transportation budget,” he said.

The 2011 Inc. 5000 is list ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2010, and have had at least $100,000 in revenue in 2007, and $2 million in 2010.

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2011 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 94 percent, according to the magazine’s press release. The companies on this year’s list report having created 350,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $366 billion, up 14 percent from last year. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and a list of the fastest-growing companies that can be sorted by industry and region can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.
