WATERBURY CT - Webster Bank and AEG Management, CT, LLC today announced the newest investment in the future economic growth of the region and state: the Webster Bank Lounge on the executive suite level of the XL Center in Downtown Hartford. The official opening of the Webster Bank Lounge coincides with the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Championship, March 2-6, 2012. The XL Center has been the home of this tournament since 2004.

“Webster is pleased to officially be part of the excitement at events at the XL Center through this sponsorship,” said Michelle Crecca, executive vice president, chief marketing officer at Webster Bank. “We recognize our support of opportunities that help make the XL Center, Hartford, and Connecticut a choice destination is essential. When people come to enjoy events at the XL Center, there is a positive effect on the local economy, as nearby restaurants, hotels, parking lots and local shops all benefit as well.”

“This project is further testament to AEG’s long-term commitment to making the XL Center a premier arena destination,” said XL Center Senior Vice President & General Manager Chuck Steedman. “As managers of the XL Center, we are always looking for new opportunities to upgrade the arena that will significantly improve the fan experience. This project will have a lasting impact on the way our executive suite ticket holders are able to enjoy an event at the XL Center. We are fortunate enough to have fantastic partners at Webster Bank that share the same level of dedication as us.”

The Webster Bank Lounge is the newest addition to the XL Center’s premium seating portfolio. Located on the 4th floor (200 Level) of the Executive Suites, the Webster Bank Lounge provides an area for Executive Suite holders to socialize and network during events. Furnished with three high-definition flat screen televisions, comfortable seating, and a bar, this inviting space will soon become a place for Suite Holders “to see and be seen.”

The Webster Bank Lounge is open to any guest possessing an Executive Suite ticket for that evening’s event. It will open one hour prior to event start time and will remain open for the duration of the event. Serving more than 137,000 households in the greater Hartford area, Webster employs approximately 2,300 of its 3,000 bankers in Connecticut. Based in Waterbury, Conn., this independent commercial bank has a fourstate footprint reaching from White Plains, N.Y. to Boston, MA. Webster is the leading SBA lender in Connecticut and remained the top SBA lender to minority-owned and women-owned businesses and to veterans.
