York Construction & Development, based in Greenwich, Conn., has done it again and won its fourth HOBI Award from the Home Builders Association of Connecticut, Inc. York Construction & Development’s winning house this year is a stunning Classic Georgian located in central Greenwich on Boulder Brook Road. The house, which won for Best Spec House between $4-5 million, is a stately 8,600 square feet home with six large bedrooms, sumptuous en-suite baths, a fabulous gourmet kitchen, wine cellar, exercise room, media room, state-of-the-art integrated sound system, office and more.
York Construction & Development’s Boulder Brook spec house, which is sold, stood out for its classic Georgian colonial architecture reminiscent of popular Georgian style homes from the 1700’s that were the rave of well-to-do New England colonists. The house is distinguished by its symmetrical and orderly style and attention to detail, including gorgeous millwork, paneled doors, decorative moldings, stacked chimneys, and finishing touches. York Millwork provided all of the millwork and custom cabinetry. Stepping into the grand front hall, the house is graced with a sweeping staircase with custom scrolled wrought iron balusters. The office/library walls are paneled with custom cabinetry and millwork; the dining room has a coiffured ceiling; there are several fireplaces, a huge finished basement and bonus room on the third floor, and each room is spacious and well thought out. In addition, the home sits on a manicured lot with beautiful mature trees and a pool site.
The HOBI Awards (Home Building Industry) is a highly competitive program that recognizes high quality homes, products and services in the Connecticut residential construction industry and awards those builders that exemplify excellence and value in home design, construction, products and features. This year’s award ceremony will be held on November 10 in Southington, Conn.
“We are thrilled that the Boulder Brook house in Greenwich is being recognized,” said Nick Barile, president of York Construction & Development. “We poured a lot of heart and soul into that house and are happy that it has been so well received.”
