Hartford, CT - On Monday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m., The Bushnell, in collaboration with New York City’s American Place Theatre, will present a theatrical adaptation of the book The Kite Runner, written by Khaled Hosseini. This Literature to Life® award-winner, adapted for the stage in 2004, features fifty minutes of verbatim performance from the first half of this best selling contemporary novel – upwards of eight characters brought to life by the virtuosic performance of a single actor. The Kite Runner is a part of The Bushnell’s Literature to Life series, sponsored by Aetna.

Tickets for The Kite Runner are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting The Bushnell Box Office at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford or by calling (860) 987-5900. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.bushnell.org. Tickets are $33.00. Please note that listed prices do not include applicable fees.

This adaptation of The Kite Runner mirrors the original short story written by the author and utilizes original Afghani music as a backdrop for the performance. A favorite on the national educational circuit, The Kite Runner has played in communities from California to Massachusetts. Through the eyes of the young protagonist, Amir, the actor takes us on a heartbreaking journey of friendship and betrayal in a society of severe class division. The evening will include both a pre and post show interactive discussion where the audience will explore themes like redemption and class systems.
