Love, adventure and magic are in the air as the Carriage House Arts Center prepares to present the longest-running show in the world, The Fantasticks. Created by Tom Jones (book and lyrics) and Harvey Schmidt (music), this beloved musical will open October 14 and will run through October 29.

Hartford Stage announces renowned director Darko Tresnjak as new artistic director

Tell It Slant showcases talents of 2011 class
Storrs, CT — The William Benton Museum of Art is proud to present The 2011 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition through May 8, 2011. The Kite Runners comes to The Bushnell
A live adaptation of the modern day classic by Khaled Hosseini will be performed at The Bushnell on Monday, April 4, 2011.
On Monday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m., The Bushnell, in collaboration with New York City’s American Place Theatre, will present a theatrical adaptation of the book The Kite Runner, written by Khaled Hosseini. This Literature to Life® award-winner, adapted for the stage in 2004, features fifty minutes of verbatim performance from the first half of this best selling contemporary novel – upwards of eight characters brought to life by the virtuosic performance of a single actor. The Kite Runner is a part of The Bushnell’s Literature to Life series, sponsored by Aetna.

Curtain Call announces auditions
The final two shows of Curtain Call's 2010-2011 season include one of Broadway's longest-running shows of all times and a brand new musical written by a local author. A CHORUS LINE and BLINDSIDED BY A DIAPER will be presented by Stamford's longest-running and only year-round, non-profit producing theatre company, Curtain Call. Auditions for both shows will take place on March 7 and 8, in the evening, at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford.

Free Shakespeare on stage in Stamford

The winner wins again
The authors of the new musical “Buddy’s Tavern,” winner of Curtain Call’s 2010 American Harmony Prize, are going to have to clear a little more room on their mantles. Yesterday, it was announced that “Buddy’s Tavern” has also been named by the Acardemy of Arts and Letters as the winner of the 2010 Richard Rodgers Award, one of the most prestigious honors given to developing works of musical theater. In addition to recognition, the Richard Rodgers Award carries with it funding for reading and productions of the winner musical. More
