When John Adams, Ben Franklin, John Hancock (played by Lou Ursone, Richard Levitt and Tom Butterworth) and others attach their signatures to the Declaration of Independence on September 10th, they'll be making a different kind of history...they'll mark the first performance in Curtain Call's 20th anniversary season which opens with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, 1776!
Curtain Call is proud to announce its 2010-2011 season, which will include five full productions in the newly renovated Kweskin Theatre, as well as five shows in The Dressing Room Theatre. The season will also include concert presentations, murder mysteries, free outdoor Shakespeare and summer youth theatre, so there will something for nearly every theatrical palate.
In addition to 1776, the 39th season in The Kweskin Theatre will include the delightful musical comedy gem, ANNIE, playing November 12 through December 18, the hysterical farce, NOISES OFF, playing February 4 through 19, the multiple Tony Award-winning musical TITANIC, playing April 1 through 30, and closes out with one of the longest running musicals in Broadway history, A CHORUS LINE, playing June 4 through 25.
"Our production of ANNIE will include special Saturday matinees in addition to the regular show schedule and will have a 7:30pm curtain each night to make it easier for families to enjoy this warm and charming musical," said Ursone, Curtain Call's executive director. (Note to all aspiring young performers: auditions for ANNIE will be held Saturday morning, September 11. Adult performers will audition 9/13 and 9/14. Details are available at www.curtaincallinc.com.)
Playing in The Dressing Room Theatre will be one of the best-known novels of all time, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, playing October 15 through 31. All shows in The Dressing Room Theatre are presented cabaret-style with a BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING FORMAT. Doors open 1 hour before show time.

Overlapping for two weeks with ANNIE will be a limited eight-performance reprise of last season's sold out smash, A MERRY MULBERRY STREET MUSICAL, playing December 2 through 12. The New Year brings the Noel Coward's comic gem, WAITING IN THE WINGS, January 7 - 22, followed by Neil Simon's hysterical and poignant CHAPTER TWO, March 4 - 20, and wraps up with the terrific, brand new musical written by Stamford author William Squier, BLINDSIDED BY A DIAPER, playing May 12 through 22.
The Murder Mystery Series (interactive theatre where you get to figure out whodunit) returns with LOVE IS BLIND November 6, I SEE DEAD PEOPLE January 29, and ROOT OF ALL EVIL March 26, "These interactive mysteries have been extremely popular for us and are loads of fun for everyone but they tend to sell-out quickly," Ursone said.
"Our regular season runs September through June," Ursone said "but we never really stop." "We're already booked through next August" he noted. "We'll go right from A CHORUS LINE into our 8th Annual free outdoor Shakespeare on the Green presentation which will be THE COMEDY OF ERRORS and then wrap up the summer with our annual youth musical production," he said.
"We're very excited about this year's line-up of concert events," Ursone noted, "especially with Dan Micchiche doing his first concert with us." Micchiche began performing at Curtain Call when he was 11 and now is starring in the Broadway cast of CHICAGO as Mary Sunshine. "He'll be with us on Saturday, November 20. Following Micchiche will be cabaret star Maydie Myles performing February 18 and 19, with another Broadway veteran, Frank Mastrone, returning for his third year with us on Sunday, March 13."
