Ten-time Grammy Award-winner Bobby McFerrin, acclaimed in both jazz and classical spheres as the world’s best-known vocal innovator, will perform at The Ridgefield Playhouse
When Bobby McFerrin sang “Don’t Worry Be Happy”, it became one of the most popular songs of the 20th century. This ten- time Grammy Award winner has earned a stellar reputation not only as one of the world's best- known vocal innovators and improvisers but also as a gifted world-class classical conductor and music educator. His more recent works include his album Simple Pleasures where he features pop favorites “Good Lovin’”, “Suzie Q” and “Sunshine of Your Love” done his way.

He brings his bundle of talent to the stage of The Ridgefield Playhouse on Fri., Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. This concert is part of the Danbury Audi Jazz Series with media sponsor WEBE 108fm. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass which includes VIP parking, an open bar and hors-d’oeuvre catered by Ancona’s Market is available for this show. Call the Box Office (203-438-5795) for more information.

McFerrin’s recordings have sold over 20 million copies, and his collaborations, including those with Yo-Yo Ma, Chick Corea, the Vienna Philharmonic, and Herbie Hancock, have established him as an ambassador of both the classical and jazz worlds. Bobby McFerrin is music's last true Renaissance man, a type of vocal explorer who combines jazz, folk and a multitude of other global music styles with his own ingredients. As an orchestral conductor, McFerrin has worked with the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic.

To say that Bobby McFerrin is "unconventional" with his four-octave vocal range and vast array of vocal techniques is an understatement. Each of his shows is a unique event that resonates with the unexpected leaving audiences dazzled and wanting more.

For tickets ($80, $75) and further information about The Ridgefield Playhouse, call the box office at 203-438-5795; adult tickets for Bobby McFerrin may be also purchased online at www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Playhouse is at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
