Sugar Ray closes the series in August

STAMFORD, CT - April 29, 2009 – This year's Alive @ Five kicks off Thursday, June 25th in Columbus Park in Stamford Downtown. This year’s star-studded series opens with Smash Mouth and closes with Sugar Ray and includes Gilby Clarke, Better Than Ezra, Tonic and American Idols, Josh Gracin and Bo Bice. The concerts begin at 5pm and run seven Thursdays, June 25 – August 6, 2009.

On June 25 Smash Mouth will take the Heineken Stage. After 12 years together as a band and nearly 10 years after emerging on the national scene with their first number one hit, Walkin’ on the Sun, all three co-founding members of Smash Mouth – Steve Harwell, Greg Camp, and Paul DeLisle – are as tight today as they were the day they first jammed together in their hometown of San Jose.

Collectively Smash Mouth has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. Along with their number one hits – Walkin’ on the Sun and All Star – they have consistently impacted radio with other recognizable hits like Then the Morning Comes, Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby, and a cover of The Monkees classic I’m a Believer, which was prominently featured on the Shrek soundtrack (#4, Billboard Adult Top 40).

The headliners lineup is as follows:

June 25 - Smash Mouth

July 2 - Gilby Clarke (of Guns N’ Roses and Supernova)

July 9 - Better Than Ezra

July 16 - Tonic

July 23 - Josh Gracin (American Idol 2003)

July 30 - Bo Bice (American Idol 2005)

August 6 - Sugar Ray
