Bernie Williams to play celebrity charity softball, guitar concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse

All-Star Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams will play with his friends in a Celebrity Charity Softball Game at 1 p.m. then star in concert at 8 p.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, October! His latest albums are Moving Forward and The Journey Within which exude his fresh jazz influenced by classical, Brazilian, pop and Latin sounds. The fundraiser softball game will benefit The Ridgefield Playhouse’s “Arts for Everyone” initiative and The Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield. It’s not every day that one can see a superstar athlete play ball for charity then guitar in concert all in a day. At The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, October 1, superstar Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams, a celebrity athlete and musician, will play a charity softball game at 1 p.m. in the field next to the Playhouse then grace the stage at 8 p.m. with his band. The fundraiser softball game will benefit The Ridgefield Playhouse’s “Arts for Everyone” initiative and The Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield. This show is underwritten by Anita and Nick Donofrio and is sponsored by Bruce Bennett Nissan with media sponsors i95fm – The Home of Rock ‘n’ Roll and ESPN.

A modern-day Renaissance man who has so many talents, Bernie Williams grew up in Puerto Rico where he learned classical guitar at an early age and was to focus on music as his career that is until the Yankees drafted him. The rest may be sports history, but Bernie Williams is also making his mark in the music world. He has developed a fresh style of jazz influenced by his classical training, Brazilian, pop and Latin sounds. His latest albums are Moving Forward and The Journey Within. The multi-talented Williams has also written a book, Rhythms of the Game: The Link between Musical and Athletic Performance, which came out in July of this year.

Bernie Williams is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including being among the Yankees all-time leaders in every major batting category along with four Gold Gloves for excellence in centerfield. In his music career, he performed at the Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year tribute to Gloria Estefan and at the final home game played at historic Yankee Stadium in 2009.

The sponsorship options for the Charity Softball Game are:

$2,500 Player Sponsorship package:

Choice of field position (based on availability). There will be 6 innings, and each player will get to play 3 innings. Players must be 18 years or older. Players should arrive on the field at noon for the 1 p.m. game start.

10 (ten) Orchestra Tickets to Bernie William’s concert at the Playhouse that evening at 8 p.m.

10 (ten) tickets to the softball game

Pre-show VIP cocktail party at 6 p.m. for players plus one guest in the Playhouse lobby with Bernie Williams and the players from his team

Name in playbill for the day

$500 Banner Sponsor package:
