Black Taxi
On Friday, February 12th Brooklyn-based band BLACK TAXI returns to Rack N Roll, bringing their high-energy live act to Stamford for their first 2010 appearance in Connecticut. The music begins at 9:30pm and the concert is free. Dance-Punk, Big-Wave and twisted Dive-Rock dominate the foursome’s Grit Pop sound.

The New Year kicked off with a thrilling performance in Boston’s Copley Square, where thousands gathered to ring in 2010 as part of the city’s annual First Night celebration. This concert was followed by a show at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, marking the second occasion that BLACK TAXI has sold-out this legendary venue. In March, BLACK TAXI will head west for a week-long Texas tour, wrapping up with multiple performances during Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival. Later in the spring the band will head south, with performances all along the eastern seaboard.

2009 was marked by several performance-related accomplishments that should not be overlooked; selling out New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, and Rocks Off!, receiving a Featured Artist spot at Radio Woodstock’s Mountain Jam, and playing three CMJ showcases, where hundreds of listeners experienced the ride that is BLACK TAXI. Additionally, fan-favorite track Pretty Mama was featured in the Youth in Revolt trailer, starring Michael Cera.

BLACK TAXI’s set will feature original songs from album Things of that Nature, as well as new work.
