| omedian Jeffrey Ross is “The Roastmaster General” due to his signature style of making fun of people. He is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse with his stand-up comedy show on Friday, June 18, 8 p.m. |
A night of exceptional comedy will be center stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, June 18, at 8 p.m. when Jeffrey Ross headlines. In his own words, Ross explains his comedic success as follows: “A message from The Roastmaster General: My name is Jeffrey Ross, but I am commonly known as The Roastmaster General. I’m not entirely sure how I got this title, but it has stuck and I am proud of it….Diss is my life.”
Australian comedian James Smith, who will be back at the Playhouse for a second time, will open the show for Ross. Jeffrey Ross is part of the Benziger Family Winery Theater & Comedy Series. Ticket holders will enjoy a complimentary wine tasting in the lobby at 7 p.m.
Witty critic Jeffrey Ross has been called “an heir apparent to such old-school masters as Buddy Hackett and Rodney Dangerfield” by The New York Times, and he is feared yet revered for his too-true-to-life roasting routines of celebrities. His DVD “Jeffrey Ross: No Offense” and “Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie”, an award-winning documentary that features Ross, showcase his comedic brilliance. The combo of Jeffrey Ross and Australia’s fine comedic talent James Smith creates a recipe of raucous laughter.
