The past few years have been abnormally successful for a band who didn’t exist before 2010. They recorded with Lindsey Buckingham (of Fleetwood Mac) on their latest record, they’re selling out major venues, they have been named as a “You Oughta Know Artist of the Month” by VH1 and even performed in front of the First Lady. They are one of the hottest new folk rock bands around and already wrote hit songs including “If I Loved You.” Their most recent EP, Chasing Twisters, includes the blazing title track, which Rolling Stone deemed “heroic”, along with “Run”, which iTunes handpicked as their Single Of The Week. Delta Rae will rock The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, February 27, at 8 p.m. with their Chasing Twisters Tour. Special guest is The Falls, an Australian Indie pop duo. For tickets ($65), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or buy tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. (contributed photo)
Delta Rae, the super star-power six-piece folk rock band that has been profiled everywhere from NPR to Time to Forbes, will take The Ridgefield Playhouse by storm with their “Chasing Twisters Tour” on Thursday, February 27, at 8 p.m.

They are the hot new folk rock blues band with the hit “If I Loved You” and VH1’s “You Oughta Know Artist of the Month”. Live is where Delta Rae truly flourishes, and flourish they will at the Playhouse. Their debut album, Carry The Fire, was met with high praise last summer.

Delta Rae just released a brand new EP, Chasing Twisters, that includes the blazing title track, which Rolling Stone deemed “heroic”, and the cut “Run”, which iTunes handpicked as their Single Of The Week.

Special guest is The Falls, an Australian Indie pop duo. Tom Tom’s Restaurant and Bakery (417 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of the show when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor 107.1fm The Peak.

Delta Rae’s curent national tour is selling out many well-known venues. The band was founded by three siblings -- Ian Hölljes (vocals and guitar), Eric Hölljes (vocals, guitar, piano and keys) and Brittany Hölljes (vocals). Joining them are Elizabeth Hopkins (vocals), Mike McKee (percussion) and Grant Emerson (bass guitar). A recent New York Times article details how the family expanded when Ian proposed from the stage to Rebecca Friedman on New Year’s Eve 2012 while Delta Rae was performing in front of 10,000 revelers in Raleigh, NC. The new Mrs. Hölljes is now tour manager for the successful Delta Rae.

Rolling Stone proclaimed that "If Fleetwood Mac came up in North Carolina, they might resemble Delta Rae." They performed not once, but twice on both The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno and Conan. Delta Rae has opened for Lyle Lovett and shared the stage with First Lady Michelle Obama, when they performed at a Democratic rally at UNC Chapel Hill. The band has also played the big under-the-sun festivals including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and Voodoo. Delta Rae is currently working on a brand new studio album, which will be released sometime this year.

For tickets ($65), call the box office at (203) 438-5795, or buy tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main St., Ridgefield, CT.
