A night of thrills is in store at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, January 27, at 8 p.m. when rock royals Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer perform together. Saxophonist/multi keyboardist Edgar Winter made “Frankenstein”, “Free Ride” and “We All Had a Real Good Time” iconic hits, and guitarist Rick Derringer’s “Hang On Sloopy”, “Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo” and “Bad to the Bone” are classics. Together, they continue to make rock history. Bailey's Backyard Bistro (23 Bailey Avenue, Ridgefield) is offering a complimentary glass of house wine with dinner when tickets are shown.This event is part of the Guinness Black Lager Rock Series with media sponsor i95fm – The Home of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer have been rocking together for decades with their kind of powerhouse rock, blues and jazz. Guitarist/songwriter Rick Derringer is a rock/blues icon who also produces records for mega stars including Cyndi Lauper, Barbra Streisand, Meat Loaf, Kiss and Bette Midler. Edgar Winter’s songs have been featured in the soundtracks of numerous films including Tropic Thunder, The Secret Life of Girls, Wag the Dog, Wayne’s World 2, My Cousin Vinny and An American Summer.
