"If music be the food of love, play on." So begins one of William Shakespeare's best-known comedies - TWELFTH NIGHT - and those words have become one of his many oft-quoted phrases.

For the 11th year, Curtain Call is proud to present a free, outdoor Shakespeare production on the great lawn at their Sterling Farms campus.

What began as a great "what if" over a birthday lunch in June of 2003, has become a staple of the summer entertainment scene in Fairfield County. Curtain Call has been bringing live performances of Shakespeare's plays to the community as part of their year-round production portfolio since its first presentation of TWELFTH NIGHT in July, 2004. This year, with a new adaptation by associate artistic director Peter Barbieri, Jr., beginning on July 10, Curtain Call will present six free outdoor performances at their Newfield Avenue home.

Presented on the great lawn alongside The Royal Green Restaurant at Sterling Farms in Stamford, performances will be held July 10, 11, 12, 13, 18 and 19 evenings at 7:30pm. The park opens for seating at 6:00pm each evening with parking across the street at Davenport Ridge School. A limited amount of reserved seating is available. (Two additional performances are scheduled for Turnure Park in downtown White Plains, NY, July 15 & 16, at 7:00pm.)

Nestled amongst the pine trees of the Sterling Farms complex on Newfield Avenue, this is a unique experience for the community to participate in and enjoy the works of William Shakespeare. Productions are presented on Curtain Call's own version of the Globe Theatre Stage designed by Barbieri. This year's production is directed by Sara Zimmerman. "An average night's attendance for us is about 300," said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call executive director and producer for TWELFTH NIGHT. "But when we have a Saturday night with perfect weather, we've had nearly twice that many - comfortably - on the lawn," he added.

More information is available at or by calling 203-329-8207. Curtain Call is the non-profit community-based theatre company in residence at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue in Stamford. Year-round productions and workshops are presented by and for area residents in The Kweskin Theatre and The Dressing Room Theatre. Curtain Call was voted Fairfield County's BEST LOCAL THEATRE GROUP 2005 through 2014 in the Annual Readers' Poll of The Fairfield County Weekly and has received similar BEST OF awards from Stamford Magazine and StamfordPlus magazine for 2008 through 2014. Curtain Call received The Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2011.
