With coach Adam Levine of Maroon 5 at his side, Javier Colon beat out all the other formidable contestants earlier this year when he was crowned the champion of the hit NBC show “The Voice” (first season). Not only can it be said that his voice is astonishing, Javier Colon has a gift for songwriting, and his musical talents include guitar, piano and percussion. Javier will give his second concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, February 2, at 8 p.m. fresh off his brand new album As Long as We Got Love featuring Natasha Bedingfield. This event is sponsored by Ritz Asia (896 Ethan Allen Highway, Ridgefield) where diners will receive a free drink with lunch or dinner the day of the show when tickets are shown. Javier Colon’s show is part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series. Media sponsor is Star 99.9fm.
Following his graduation from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music with a degree in music, Javier Colon joined the Derek Trucks Band. After two years, he started his solo career and released his first single, Crazy, which debuted at #95 on Billboard Hot 100 and reached #42 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. His first album, Javier, mixes jazz, funk and R&B. Javier has released two other albums, Left of Center and The Truth – Acoustic EP.
Javier Colon’s show will be one of those rare occasions when an exceptionally gifted pop artist gets to sing his heart out in the intimate setting of The Ridgefield Playhouse as he continues his journey to super stardom. For the audience, it’s a memory maker.
