"Deliveries After Dark" debuted on the Billboard Blues Charts at number 4-it is Popa Chubby's latest album, and it features more heavy metal than some of his earlier albums, but to his fans that is just fine. The ambitious, good-timing rock songs, the searing guitar solos and the willingness to experiment contribute to a rollicking performance, especially when experienced live. Popa Chubby, born Ted Horowitz, is a New Yorker, having grown up in the Bronx. Although he grew up in the 1970s, he took his cue from the 1960s, namely Sly & the Family Stone and Eric Clapton. Chubby's first break was winning a national blues talent search sponsored by a radio station in California. Next came the New Artist of the Year Award. Now, through his multi-hundred of club dates, comes an ever-growing fan base.
