Musical Mondays @ Curtain Call presents Great Wall

Musical Mondays, Curtain Call, Inc.’s popular concert reading series, continues its 11th season of performances on Monday, February 6 at 7:30 pm on the main stage of the Kweskin Theatre with a presentation of the musical Great Wall, the winner of Curtain Call’s 2012 American Harmony Prize, starring Christopher Yee.

Great Wall follows an Asian American singer/songwriter's struggle to smash glass ceilings and become America's New Sensation, amidst a clash of family and cultural expectations The musical was written by recording artist Kevin So, writer director Kevin Merritt, TONY Award winner David Henry Hwang. Kevin So is a recording artist with 12 albums to his credit who has headlined in clubs from Boston to Austin. Writer / Director Kevin Merritt splits time between live television, theatre, music and animation, including the Tony Awards, National Tour of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella and HBO's Def Poetry. David Henry Hwang is the celebrated author of M. Butterfly, Golden Child, FOB, Disney’s Aida, Tarzan and the current Broadway comedy Chinglish.

The concert reading of Great Wall will be followed by the awarding of the American Harmony Prize (co-sponsored by the Stamford Gives Back Foundation) and a champagne and dessert reception.
