STAMFORD, CT - Stamford's Ferguson Library's Adult Summer Reading Club Finale will feature the music of Swamp Gumbo, a New Orleans-style party band, on Wednesday, August 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Library's Harry Bennett Branch. (Special reception for members with invitation at 6:30 p.m.)
The six-piece band, led by trumpeter Tim Ouimette (Ray Charles, Ray Baretto), acclaimed singer Kati Mac (Meat Loaf, Sting), and premier piano man, Jon Cobert (John Lennon, Tom Chapin), plays a mix of Cajun, Creole, R&B, and Zydeco with classics from the genres, including the music of Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, Leon Russell, and more.
