Remember September (www.rememberseptemberband.com), Acoustic rock band from Trumbull, Conn., which just released a second CD this year--“The Roads We Travel”-- is planning its third annual benefit concert at Walter Reed Medical Center for August 21st, 2010 and a full schedule of performances throughout New England and New York for this summer, according to band manager John Schod.
Schod said the band is using its summer shows to continue to expand its musical horizons from New Hampshire to Nashville. He highlighted several shows that will add to Remember September’s “big show” resume of playing with several legendary artists like Chicago, Randy Travis and .38 Special.
“This summer we’re headlining several great events and festivals that will expose us to thousands of new listeners and help do some fundraising for our Walter Reed concert,” Schod said. “One of those performances will be a large July 4th Celebration at the OMNI Mt. Washington resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.
On August 7th, the band will be the featured artist at the 34th Annual SoNo Arts Celebration that draws many festival goers to South Norwalk, Connecticut.
The Walter Reed event, which will be held for wounded soldiers, their families, and the staff at the hospital is "the band's tribute to the brave women and men who put their lives on the line in Iraq and Afghanistan," Schod said. “The concert will be sponsored by Salute The Veterans, a non-profit group which raises money to assist veterans with food, shelter, clothing, medical and education.
