Boasting sales of more than 10 million in the U.S. alone, the Tempe, Arizona-based combo Gin Blossoms has drawn critical applause and massive popular success for their trademark brand of chiming guitars, introspective lyricism, and irresistible melodies. “Follow You Down”, “Hey Jealousy”, “Found Out About You”, “Allison Road” and “Til I Hear It From You” are some of the hits that dominated the airwaves throughout the ‘90s that will be brought to life with the full band at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, February 8, at 8 p.m.

Their crossover hits can also be heard on TV and film sound tracks, and their magnetic live shows make Gin Blossoms one of the most influential Pop bands that helped define ‘90s radio. Their 1992 record, New Miserable Experience, kept the band on the charts for almost three years with its timeless singles. Their follow-up records churned out Platinum hits and eventually became Grammy nominated – only to lose to one of the Beatles. Special guest is Tommy & The High Pilots, a rock band from Santa Barbara, California.

Ticket holders will learn how Love Hope Strength save lives, one concert at a time, in the lobby before the show and during intermission. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d’oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office (203-438-5795). Bailey's Backyard Farm-to-Table restaurant will take 10% off the lunch or dinner bill the day of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is underwritten by AcousticMusic.org and is part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter and Xfinity Rock Series.

Gin Blossoms’ latest album is a compilation -- The Best of the Gin Blossoms 20th Century Masters The Millennium Collection (2013). Their most recent original record, No Chocolate Cake album reached #1 on Amazon.com album charts on the day it was released in 2010. It debuted at # 73 on the Billboard 200.

Gin Blossoms became a household name when they contributed their smash hit "Till I hear It From You" to the soundtrack for the film Empire Records (1995). The multi-Platinum award-winning band is made up of Scott Johnson on lead guitar, Bill Leen on bass, John Richardson on drums, Jesse Valenzuela on rhythm guitar and Robin Wilson on lead vocals.

For tickets ($45), call the box office (203) 438-5795, or buy tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main St., Ridgefield, CT.
