The Stamford Symphony strings will perform Hop! - a fun-filled, interactive mini-concert for children (ages 4 - 8) - on Sunday, March 21 at 1:00 and 2:30 pm at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. This is the final concert this season of the Exploring the Orchestra series sponsored by People's United Bank.
Celebrate Spring by exploring the violin, viola and cello. Children can relax on the carpeted floor as musicians from the Symphony's demonstrate their instruments with tunes kids can't resist (like the Eensy Weensy Spider). They'll also perform short, kid-friendly classical music such as Bartok's short duet Mosquitos. Bring your dancing shoes for the Hop, Hop Polka (arranged by Symphony violist Adria Benjamin) then get ready to meet real, live bunnies courtesy of the Nature Center's naturalist. Bring on the Bunnies! After the concert, kids will have a chance to interact with the players and to explore the instruments
Each concert ticket includes admission to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center which offers a small working farm, a museum, and an innovative playground. For SM&NC details visit www.StamfordMuseum.org.
Tickets are $12 SM&NC members/$15 non-members/$8 children. The 1:00 pm performance of Hop! is sold out. People are encouraged to call earlier to avoid disappointment.
