Eight amateur comedians from across the region will be selected from all registered audition submissions to perform live at the Connecticut Comedy Idol Contest taking place on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 6:30p.m. - 9:00p.m. at The Funny Bone Comedy Club, 194 Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester, Conn. (within the Pavilions at Buckland Hills Mall between Panera and Bertucci's). The event will be hosted by Celebrity Emcee, Damon Scott popular afternoon radio personality on 96.5 WTIC-FM.

The eight finalist will perform an original 5 minute comedy act LIVE in front of a “Celebrity Judge Panel” consisting of Rob Steen comedian, talent agent and owner of North Shore Comedy, Brad Axelrod comedian, talent agent and owner of Treehouse Comedy Productions, Channel 3 Eyewitness News Meteorologist Mark Dixon, and 2009 Miss Connecticut Monica Pietrzak. The four celebrity judges with audience participation will select one winner who will be showcased and perform as the opening act at a second and larger venue called Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy Night again to benefit Mosaic. This is a great opportunity for someone to fulfill their dreams and maybe impress one of the talent agents. The LOL Comedy Night event will take place on Friday October 16, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Cromwell.

Deadline for audition submissions is September 2, 2009 and the 8 finalists will be notified on September 4, 2009. Sponsorships, auction donations, table captains, and attendees all needed for the LOL Comedy Night. Contact Kerry Burrows at 860-632-2814 if interested in supporting LOL Comedy Night.
