STAMFORD, CT - Two authors will discuss their works focusing on life in their adoptive country on Wednesday, January 29 at 6 p.m. in the Ferguson Library’s Third Floor Auditorium, Bedford & Broad Streets, Stamford.

Lara Vapnyar, author of The Scent of Pine, will discuss this poignant love story centering on Lena, a 38-year-old Russian immigrant who is struggling with a mid-life crisis in her adoptive country when she meets Ben and reveals long-held secrets about her past working in a Soviet summer camp.

Okey Ndibe, author of Foreign Gods, Inc., will discuss his story of Ike, a New York-based Nigerian cab driver who sets out to steal the statue of an ancient war deity from his home village and sell it to a New York gallery. The book is a meditation on the dreams, promises and frustrations of the immigrant life in America.

Book sale and signing will follow the program. All our programs are generously supported by the Friends of The Ferguson Library. For information call 203 351-8231.
