STAMFORD, CT - Forget the hot flashes and night sweats— Menopause the Musical will bring laughs and classic tunes to ‘The City That Works’ this spring. Featuring songs from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, this hilarious musical parody will have you cheering and dancing in the aisles of Stamford’s Palace Theatre on Sunday, May 4th. “We’re delighted to welcome the ladies of ‘Menopause the Musical’ and to show people what millions of women have been laughing about for years,” said BT McNicholl, producing artistic director at the Palace. “Everyone and anyone—male, female, young, old—will fall in love with this show!”

Set in a department store, four women—with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra on sale—discover they have more to share than ever imagined. The all-female cast makes fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats, and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these diverse women as they realize that menopause is no longer ‘The Silent Passage,’ but a stage in every woman’s life that is perfectly normal.

“Most women know intuitively that every other woman is experiencing hot flashes or night sweats,” said Jeanie C. Linders, author of Menopause the Musical. “There is always a close friend or two who can sympathize or identify, but when they are sitting in a theatre with hundreds of other women, all laughing and shouting ‘That’s me! That’s me on stage!' They know what they are experiencing is normal. They aren’t alone or crazy. It becomes a sisterhood.”

Tickets may be purchased online at http://bit.ly/menopausetix or charged by phone with major credit cards by calling The Palace Box Office at 203-325-4466. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Palace Theatre box office in downtown Stamford, open Monday- Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The 2013-2014 season is made possible by Palace Theatre’s Season Sponsors Seaboard Properties, Inc. and the Whittingham Family.
