The critically acclaimed show is produced in some of the world’s most prestigious amphitheaters and is now coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, November 18, at 8 p.m.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is a double album released in 1974 by the British rock band Genesis and features lead singer Peter Gabriel, a progressive rock icon. Included are the iconic songs “Fly on a Windshield”, “In the Cage”, “Carpet Crawlers” and many more songs performed by the tribute band with all the dazzling spectacle, authentic instruments and costumes of the original theatrical event. This is a must-see event for progressive rock and music fans and is part of the Guinness Black Lager Rock Series.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tells the story of a half Puerto Rican juvenile delinquent living in New York City who is swept underground and forced to face bizarre creatures and nightmarish dangers in order to rescue his brother. The show features some of Genesis’s most famous instruments, including a double neck six-string bass guitar and a red seven-piece Ludwig drum kit. In the recreation, the audience gets to experience all 1100 original slide projections, all the songs, all the theatrics, costumes, props and visual effects as well as some of the most captivating music ever written.
