Tropical Paradise exhibit to open at the Ferguson Library in Stamford

STAMFORD, CT - The Ferguson Library, in partnership with the Stamford Art Association, presents “Tropical Paradise” at the Library’s Auditorium Gallery beginning Thursday, January 26, 2012. There will be a public reception to launch the show from 6 – 8 p.m.

“Tropical Paradise” is part of the Art at the Ferguson series, coordinated in cooperation with the Stamford Art Association. The show will run through May and is free and accessible during normal library hours. The Ferguson Library is Stamford’s public library system, consisting of the Main Library downtown, the Harry Bennett Branch, the Weed Memorial & Hollander Branch, the South End Branch and a traveling Bookmobile. It provides free and equal access to print, audiovisual and electronic resources. Our website, www.fergusonlibrary.org, offers remote access to information and resources.

The Stamford Art Association, established in 1971, is a nonprofit organization whose members include painters, sculptors, printmakers, and photographers. Its mission is to provide a forum where artists can exhibit their work and compete in juried shows. It’s Townhouse Gallery, located at 39 Franklin Street, Stamford, CT, hosts eight exhibits annually, and attracts prominent jurors from art institutions and galleries in New York and surrounding areas, including the Whitney Museum, Bruce Museum, and Museum of Modern Art.
