Westport Country Playhouse has launched a new mobile website with information especially tailored for quick viewing anytime, anywhere on a mobile device, such as a smart phone or tablet. The mobile site makes it easy for Playhouse patrons on the go to purchase tickets, get directions, check out events, and browse videos and social media, all from a mobile device. Additionally, a free-of-charge Westport Country Playhouse App can also be downloaded.

“Now you can have the Playhouse in the palm of your hand,” said David B. Byrd, Westport Country Playhouse director of marketing. “As our society continues to embrace new technologies, we’re pleased to offer a solution that helps connect our patrons and would-be patrons to the Playhouse in a quick, easy and informative way.”

The mobile site and App may be accessed from any mobile device using the same URL as the Playhouse’s website, www.westportplayhouse.org. The mobile site is organized into three main categories for shows, videos, and buzz. Just like the Playhouse’s standard site, the mobile site offers patrons the opportunity to purchase single tickets, as well as obtain visitor, restaurant partners, subscription, and donation information.

To download the free-of-charge Westport Country Playhouse app, visit www.westportplayhouse.org on your mobile device’s web browser, or search the iPhone App Store or Google Play (Android). Patrons who elect to receive push notifications will be among the very first to know about ticket on-sale dates, breaking news, and more.

Traffic to the Playhouse’s standard website has increased by 19% over the last year, with a large amount of visits from mobile devices (up 32% over the previous year). The rapid growth of mobile device use prompted the Playhouse to optimize its website for the mobile market.

The project was funded by Ann Sheffer and Bill Scheffler.
