Fairfield, CT - For the special guests invited to WSHU Public Radio Group’s recent “Tent Events,” the experience proved a real eye-opener into what it takes to produce and broadcast award-winning local and regional news and diverse community outreach activities. The events took place both inside and outside of WSHU’s broadcast studios and were attended by many of the station’s most dedicated supporters, including members of WSHU’s Leadership Circle, Broadcast Society and Development Committee.

According to WSHU General Manager George Lombardi, “Our Tent Events gave our special guests a behind-the-scenes look at our operation, and the opportunity to see where all the ‘magic’ happens.” WSHU hosted over 200 guests at its fall 2013 tent events which featured short presentations by key station personnel, who shared exciting news and developments at WSHU, followed by studio tours. Refreshments, which were provided by Fairfield’s Barcelona Wine Bar, included delicious tapas and sangria.

In addition to using its tent events to demonstrate its deep appreciation to its loyal supporters, WSHU also leveraged the forum to announce the station’s upcoming 30th anniversary next year.
Each guest received a commemorative 30th anniversary historical timeline brochure, designed by SMM Advertising.

Due to the positive response to its “Tent Events,” WSHU is planning to schedule additional events next year.
