If it’s the weekend, it’s….opera at The Ridgefield Playhouse! The 2012-13 season of The Met: Live in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse opens with world-class opera star Anna Netrebko in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore on Sunday, October 14, at 1 p.m. On Saturday, October 27, at 12:55 p.m. and Sunday, October 28, at 1 p.m., it’s Verdi’s Otello starring Renée Fleming and Johan Botha. Pre- and post-opera prix-fixe menus are available at Bernard’s (22 West Lane, Ridgefield) making going to the opera a total experience. Reservations are suggested. Media sponsor is WMNR Fine Arts Radio with support from Starbucks.

The Met Live in HD has all the elements of a sporting event and more. Going to the opera is enhanced when it’s Live in HD with the bonus pack of having the best view in the house and back-stage interviews with the stars!

The 2012-13 season of The Met: Live in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse will feature 12 world-class operas showcasing the world’s greatest singers, conductors and directors with spectacular stage productions and special effects, which makes opera an art form for everyone.

For tickets, purchase all 12 operas as a series for $216 or $18.00 per opera, or buy single tickets at $25 for adults, $20 for members, and $15.00 for students, available only by calling the box office at (203) 438-5795, or order online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
