Who will win 2010 Connecticut Comedy Idol

Eight amateur comedians from across the region were selected from all registered audition submissions to perform live at the Connecticut Comedy Idol Contest taking place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 6:00p.m. - 9:00p.m. at The Funny Bone Comedy Club, 194 Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester, Conn. (within the Shoppes at Buckland Hills Mall between Panera and Bertucci's). The 8 Finalists in random order are: Eric Fier from Bethel, CT; Sarah Blodgett from Worcester, MA; Mike Finoia from North Haven, CT; Nick Lettic from Northboro, MA; Mike Jacobs from Cromwell, CT; Larry Noiva and 2009 CT Comedy Idol winner from Tolland, CT; Mary Lyons from Branford, CT; and Matt Donaher from Cambridge, MA. The Runner Up is: Phil Sann from Hartford, CT.

The event will be hosted by Celebrity Emcee, Damon Scott popular afternoon radio personality on 96.5 WTIC-FM as a fundraising event for Mosaic a non-profit organization who has been servicing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Connecticut for the past 21 years . Music will be provided by “I.C.E Internet Radio at MCC” and the communication students of Manchster Community College. The Funny Bone Comedy Club will be offering their full pub menu and cocktails for purchase during the event so come for dinner. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

The eight finalist will perform an original 5 -7 minute clean comedy act LIVE in front of a “Celebrity Judge Panel” consisting of Rob Steen comedian, talent agent and owner of North Shore Comedy, Brad Axelrod talent agent and owner of Treehouse Comedy Productions, Channel 3 Eyewitness News Pinpoint Traffic Reporter Teresa LaBarbera, and 2010 Miss Connecticut USA, Ashley Bickford. The four celebrity judges will score the contestants and will select one winner who will be adorned with the winner sash by Miss Connecticut, receive a $500 Cash prize sponsored by CIGNA and be showcased and perform as the opening act in front of 3 professional headliner comedians at our larger event called Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy Night again to benefit Mosaic. This is a great opportunity for someone to fulfill their dreams and maybe impress one of the talent agents like last year when a few of the contestants actually received paid appearance contracted by our talent agent judges!. Come see the winner of CT Comedy Idol at The LOL Comedy Night Event to also benefit Mosaic will take place on Friday November 5, 2010 7:00- 11:00pm at the Crowne Plaza Cromwell and includes a silent auction, balloon chance, door prizes, dinner buffet and cash bar for all your beverages. Rachel Lutzker who is heard on The River 105.9 week nights on Acoustic After Dark, and also on Fox 61 Morning News will be the Celebrity Emcee for Laugh Out Loud Comedy Night.
