A Sound experience beats those lazy days of summer

Open House for Parents and Kids to Highlight Camp’s Latest Programs

Summer – it’s a time when kids explore the outdoors, local beaches and all the coastline has to offer. Children from kindergarten through eighth grade can channel their innate curiosity to beat those lazy days of summer at Camp SoundWaters in Stamford.

Families can attend a free Open House for the camp on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at SoundWaters’ Coastal Center in Stamford ’s Cove Island Park. At the Open House, parents can learn about the variety of fun camp programs designed to support and amplify school curriculum for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. These include:

· Nature Discovery (Sea Stars & Bluefish) grades K – 4
Habitat investigation, species (crabs, snails, etc.) population studies, optional swim lessons, and hands-on experience with sea life.

· Small Boat Sailing grades 4 – 6
8’ Optimist sailing on Holly Pond for beginners, and Pixel sailing on Long Island Sound for advanced sailors wishing to challenge their skills.

· Tall Ship Sailing Adventures grades 6 – 8
One-week sessions of sail handling and Long Island Sound exploration with sessions including a camp-out on a local island.

If registered before March 15, each child merits a $50 Early Registration discount for each session.
