Charity flea market benefits Norwalk Emergency Shelter & Norwalk Housing Foundation College Scholarship Fund

Norwalk, CT – United Storage Norwalk located at 80 Fair Street will host a charity flea market on October 23rd from 10am – 4pm. All proceeds will benefit the Norwalk Emergency Shelter & Norwalk Housing Foundation College Scholarship Fund. Community members are invited to set up a table for $15. In turn the set up fee will be donated to the charities. Vendors are encouraged to donate a portion of their sale profits to the charity, but are not required to. There will also be Trick or Treats for kids.

“As part of our unique organizational core values, our staff is encouraged to make a positive impact on our communities by identifying local people and organizations that need assistance. The Norwalk Emergency Shelter and Norwalk Housing Foundation College Scholarship Fund are such strong assets to our community and we wanted to be a part of their fund raising efforts so they can continue to offer the resources we need as a growing community, “said Chris Martinez, manager of United Storage Norwalk. During these economic hardships, there are more families in need of vital assistance. Norwalk Emergency Shelter and Norwalk Housing Foundation College Scholarship Fund need all the help they can receive to continue to give hope to local families in need. A variety of merchandise will be on sale such as tools and jewelry. We are already getting a lot of great vendors for the sale. We’re hopeful that we will attract a lot of buyers the day of the event,“ comments Mr. Martinez.

In addition to the flea market, a cash collection jar will be available throughout the event for the community to stop by and drop off funds for both charities. The community is invited to drop off donations between office hours at the storage facility; Saturday 9:30am-6pm. As a way to say thank you to their community, United Storage Norwalk will also offer a special discount on storage space to flea market patrons on the event day.
