"This i.s a heavy period for yard waste, and we want to make sure that residents from all over Stamford have a chance to get to our composting and recycling facility," said Solid Waste Supervisor Dan Colleluori. "They can bring grass clippings, brush, logs or any other yard waste, along with any recyclables such as paper, cans and bottles, cardboard or scrap metal." The City will repeat the additional Sunday hours in the fall based on utilization this spring. Complete information about Stamford's recycling and composting programs can be found at www.cityofstamford.org. Residents are also reminded that the City is hosting an electronics recycling event on Saturday, May 24 and Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday June 14. Both events will be located at Scalzi Park in Stamford. For more information, please contact Solid Waste Supervisor Dan Colleluori at 203-977-4117. © Copyright by StamfordPlus.com.
