More than 250 guests were delighted when Sesame Workshop Muppeteer Kevin Clash as Elmo joined CLC’s Board President Jim Blumenfeld and Maya Knell onstage in honoring Sesame’s President and Chief Executive Officer. The furry red monster and Knell’s youngest daughter roasted Knell’s international travel and his dedication to children worldwide. Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy also praised Knell for his interest in early childhood education in Stamford, where Sesame has collaborated with CLC in literacy initiatives. “CLC’s 106-year commitment to early childhood education has prepared generations of Stamford’s children for public school. CLC’s partnership with Sesame Workshop in many new literacy initiatives is helping raise the English language skills of many of our children and dovetails with Sesame’s legacy. We look forward to many more initiatives with both these outstanding institutions.”
