STAMFORD, CT - The Ferguson Library and Purdue Pharma L.P. have launched the Purdue Pharma Consumer Health Information Center at The Ferguson Library, a new library service and media collection designed to provide the public with accurate, up-to-date health information. Purdue Pharma is giving the Ferguson $50,000 to buy materials and provide library services for the Center.
The grant from Purdue Pharma enables The Ferguson to create a significant Consumer Health Information Center to meet the growing interest in health information, according to Library President Ernest DiMattia. The Ferguson has already purchased 300 titles on everything from child rearing to cancer to health and fitness, and will now be able to grow this robust collection even further.
“One of the most exciting additions is our new database, Consumer Health Complete, which is a comprehensive resource for consumer-oriented health content, covering all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated medicine,” DiMattia said. “We look forward to continuing to work with Purdue Pharma on this important consumer health initiative.”

We hope the community will use and benefit from the Purdue Pharma Consumer Health Information Center, and we thank The Ferguson for providing the facility and staff expertise that will make it a vibrant resource for the area,” Stewart said.
