Democratic challenger for Congress, Jim Himes, has won his bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives against long time Congressman Chris Shays.
Shays was the only Republican congressman from New England and has held the Fourth District seat for 21 years, since 1987.
Additionally, Senator Barack Obama is projected to win the State of Connecticut in his bid for a U.S. President.
